can anyone out there explain to me why wine has very few carbs but champagne is loaded with them?
How bad can some bubbles be? :p
That is a very good question, I was wondering myself!

It has alot to do with the fermentation process..... and residual sugars (even if it isn't sweet). Yeah I thought it was a bummer too :(!
Oh that would be the same for cheap nasty wines like Donelli Lambrusco, dessert wines and fortified wines (from memory of course!)
If I could design food, chocolate and champers would be low carb and green vegetables would be high carb. Actually, mudcake would be slimming...

Is wine o.k. then to have on a low carb diet?

Hello Portia, welcome to the forum. Here are a couple of threads for you to have a look at,and then you can decide yourself if you want to have a wine or two.
I think most of us have a drink now and then on special occasions
