for those of you that would like to know a little more about what is in your food than the basic info that Diet Club provides, this (unfortunately American-centric) website provides nutritional breakdowns of a huge range of foods in amazing detail:

http://www.nutritiondata.com/index.html

For Aussies in regards to nutritiondata, our food standards now has the same information in their own food database NUTTAB 2006 (http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/consumerinformation/nuttab2006/onlineversionintroduction/onlineversion.cfm)

This is the best website, Ofcourse you need to remember this is an american site so their carb counts will differ.

But the info you can get is amazing, for example I did a search on the highest calcium containing vegetables and this is what I got:

Sherrie, or someone else who knows, how are the carb counts in the US different from those in Australia?

Thanks!

Hello Silver, in Australia when our government works out our carbohydrates it does not include fibre, fibre is separate. But also, because our government calculates the actual carbohydrate amount - even with fibre accounted for, ours are still different, because your government use a differential method where pretty much everything including ash is counted as a carbohydrate. So basically, they work out the protein and fat etc and dump everything else as carbohydrate.

This is our food database (http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/consumerinformation/nuttab2006/onlineversionintroduction/onlineversion.cfm) if you're interested in having a look, a good example is broccoli. For us broccoli is counted as being only 0.4g carbs per 100g
