I can't help but think that this whole 'Trans fats are bad' trend is just unecessary hysteria.

OH wow Junk food companies are trying to rid of it... IT'S STILL JUNK FOOD!!!

Carbs have and are still killing a lot more people than trans fats ever had!

Carbs are responsibile for diabetes and heart disease and god knows what else.

There are natural trans fats in animal foods - we've always eaten some - it won't kill you!!

If you are eating Cereal and worried about trans fats - Then you are missing the point!

Eat real food, not manufactured stuff!

Dave, I am pretty sure I recall reading a few times that the naturally occuring trans fats in animal foods are different.

It is definately still junk food BUT cooking with unstable vegetables oil (aka trans fats and rancid oils) still has to go. Highly refined, processed carbs are bad yes, especially if not controlled but you can't blame them for everything on their own.

Regardless of what carbs are doing the fact is they are cheap, real food isn't... we will never stop it all we can do is try to manage it. Heck I do not think we could feed the world if every single person stopped eating carbohydrates!

The fact is, millions of kids will be eating their happy meals every single day and the transfats you see with a french fry is not healthy!

Should these kids be eating happy meals, NO WAY they shouldn't be eating anything with or without carbs that has been deep fried in those fryers full of rancid vegetable oils!!!

But millions still will, best to make it safer rather then just ignore it, of course it will just be replaced with something just as bad until people get over their saturated fat phobia!
