I read a post by Peter at Hyperlipid this morning on gluten... technical, but worth wading through. As someone with two autoimmune diseases I can attest that avoiding gluten makes a huge difference in how I feel. My mother, who also suffers from RA, is sensitive to nightshades, as he mentions.

I'm convinced gluten is as close to the debil as you can get when dealing with food, surpassed only by trans fats (the kind we make not the naturally occurring kind) and HFCS.
