Could anyone recommend a good software program for recording and monitoring LC eating, weight and goals, as well as measurements, preferably that includes Australian nutrition information?

I am currently using a trial version of Weight-By-Date, which gives me everything I want with one exception: no Australian data is included in the database, so I have to add each new food individually. It also deducts the fibre from the total carb count to give the net carbs, which doesn't work for Australian products, so I have to adjust the total carb count to include fibre. Not a big deal, though.

My trial ends in 3 days, so I must make a decision before then as to whether to buy this software (US$59), or consider something else. I do find the software very helpful in keeping on top of my carb intake, as well as for monitoring my weight and centimeter changes (its great to see that graph line trending downwards!)

**Sherrie, I wasn't sure where to post this question, so please move it if you think it fits better elsewhere. Thanks :)

I don't really use one but I know Calorie King have a free program. I have joined up but don't actually use it. It has a Food and Exercise Diary and does have a section to give you calorie and carb counts etc. I think Sherrie said that the carb counts can be wrong sometimes though. I also have a graph that records my weight and measurements you can send me a PM with your email address if you would like it:)

Calorie king has Australian info as far as labeled products go though may not always be accurate, their fresh foods however use American info.

Thanks for the info, Shez and Sherrie.

Thanks for the offer, Shez. If I decide against buying this software (or the state of my bank account compels me to wait :o ), I may take you up on it. I will have to decide what to do over the next couple of days, then I'll pm you if I need it. :)

I use 'Perfect Diet Tracker'. It's not a free program, but I really like it. I actually got it for free 'cos before I bought it I mentioned a few things that I didn't like about it & they gave it to me for free for making those suggestions.

You can search the web for counts, add your own, make recipes etc.

When I'm eating LC (*Gulp*) I find it really useful. It's gathering a bit of dust at the moment

3 days of LC and you'll be back on the straight and narrow :)

I downloaded the trial version of the "Perfect Diet Tracker" software, Damsel. Thanks for the suggestion :). It looks nice but I don't like the fact that it restricts what you can set as your goals, eg. it doesn't allow you to set a weight-loss goal of more than 1 kg per week. While Weight-By-Date is not as pretty, it is generally more flexible, so I've decided to go with that. My wonderful df said he would buy it for me, which solved the money problem. :)

Hi Parousia ... glad you found something that worked. I didn't see the limit of more than 1kg a week as relevant I guess (not sure I even noticed it) I generally lose 500g a week. I just used it more to track the food.

I use it to track everything, pretty much, Damsel. I just like to be able to set my own goals. I do have a particular time-frame I'm working to initially, and in order to achieve my goal I have to lose more than 1 kg per week. Whether I actually can or not is another matter altogether, unfortunately!
