View Full Version : getting there
Hi everyone,
I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks. It is great .Very friendly and supportive. I have already tried few recipes with good results.
I started with atkins diet and lost 4 kg in a month. I still have 3 to go but stuck at the same weight for nearly a month.I 'll need guidence from all of you.
Thanks Sherrie for the great effort.

Welcome Leila:)
The last few is always the hardest but you will get there!
Thanks,
i registered with the leila earlier and was not able to introduce myself as it was not letting me in,so i registered again with different name. The first time i didnot get the email.
few questions on my mind.that i want to clearify
1/Atkins book suggest 3-4 oz of cheese that is 120-130gms.where as our very own aussie writer Chris Smiths book 'Power of protein 'says 30gms of cheese a day.cheese is the main item to satisfy me and 30 gms is only 1 slice.
2/what do you think of nytara biscuits(from woolies)it says sugarfree.carb 12.9 and sugar0.2gm per biscuit. Is't the carb fiber and other stuff as long as the sugar is low.

Leila I would recommend going with Atkins unless you have an intolerance to cheese? not much point having 30g!!!
Those biscuits I would think would already have the fibre subtracted so you need to go by the total carbs, so it will be too high!

Welcome Lila
One of the things that really stalls me is cheese. AND I LOVE IT. I think sometimes the things we adore really are the things we should have in very very moderation. Suggest you don't eat cheese for a week and see what happens. Have Chicken, pork chop (hot or cold) big fish feed etc and lots of salad veges. Also water water and more water. An old trick which seems to work is a hot glass of water first thing on rising with the juice of 1/2 lemon drunk straight down helps with clearing the system. (note to me : start doing that again as lemons are now bountiful)
Little by little and you will get there!!
Thanks so much,
My scales have actually moved in the right direction after 1 month of being static.
I am delighted;)

Hi Leila, well done on your effort so far..
what do you think of nytara biscuits(from woolies)it says sugarfree.carb 12.9 and sugar0.2gm per biscuit. Is't the carb fiber and other stuff as long as the sugar is low.
Leila
The sugar free or low sugar products don't always mean low carb because of the wheat and flour..12.9 carbs for one bicky is way to high , unfortunately..
Thank you all for the support.I am really enjoying to be a part of this group,as im not alone anymore.special Thanks to Doingit for the valuable tip.
re bickies
Ya ,i was hopeing that most of that was fiber plus other stuff which is not counted towards the sugar content. My Box is still unopened.and i donot intend to open it.
