Pains

Hi , i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this means anything. I am 36 wks preg and i have really bad back pain . This is normal for me but it's really bad today. I am getting pains across the top of my stomach and a stabbing grinding feeling inside of the vagina. My stomach goes really hard and then it's fine and this keeps happening. I have already lost the mucus plug a few days ago now. What do you think this is?????

You need to go straight to your doctor/hospital. You could very well be in labour!

Today at this point in time my back pains are not as bad, but i am having period like pains in lower belly. Is this what contractions feel like or would it be BH? Baby is still kicking a lot.

Yes sounds like BH but you should be able to call the hospital/midwife and ask them if you're concerned.

Is there any way i can get labor started without having to go to hospital? Has anything worked for anyone else?

You're only 37 weeks, I know the last few weeks really suck but don't try to start labour yet, the last few weeks are important for bub. I was induced in hospital as Maya was 8 days late and I was really big so they were a little worried about her size, all I can say is being induced really sucked, did not like it one bit, makes labour pains much worse and it was not a quick labour!

If labour isn't happening yet then bub isn't ready to come out yet, Sherrie's right, it's better to leave him/her alone. I know it sucks but just when you think you can't take it anymore you'll get those first contractions & meet your baby. Rest :)
