Hi everyone

I'm very new to this, am reading this site and the DANDR book at the moment to get my head around this all, as I plan to start LC in a month or two, once I have finished breastfeeding my bub.

So, out of curiousity, how does everyone like to keep track of their carbs?

The options I have been able to think of so far are

Memory (not for me I'm afraid!)
Pre-written menu plans
Software/Internet sites - would something like Calorie King be suitable?
Carb Counter like in DANDR and notepad

Um..... that's about all I can think of.

What works best for you?

Ta :)

Nah don't use DANDR as it is not the most accurate. You can use Calorie king but their fresh produce are American based so it is best to enter them in as custom foods using data from food standards nutritional panel calculator (http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/npc/). The reason being is that Americans work out the carbohydrate intake differently to us, firstly they include fibre in their carbohydrate counts but also they include other stuff such as ash which makes their counts inaccurate even when accounting for the fibre. So if you remember to enter any fresh veggies and fruits in customarily you will be ok. This will allow you to eat more veggies then if you used American info.

Also we have some spreadsheets here that others have contributed over the years, you will find links to them here: Weight-Loss Tools (http://www.apinchofhealth.com/resources/wltools.html)
