Email Validation/Posting Issues

Hey guys and girls


Its just came to my attention some new registrants are not receiving their activation codes to validate their account and hence can't post.

I'm not sure why this is happening but suspect it may be spam/junk filters. I gave it a try with a yahoo account and noticed mine came in my bulk folder about 10 minutes later.

If you email me from the email address you registered with I can validate you manually.

Hello...
I too had the same problem. If anyone else reading this is having the problem, try changing your email address in your user CP (see buttons at the top of the page).

I changed mine to my Gmail account and got the welcome email about 3 seconds later.

Don't apologise, If you know of anything I can do to get the email activations to slip through I'm all ears as this is a big problem.
I just individually went through 81 unactivated accounts the otherday, only 9 of them had the wrong email addy

It could be a combination of a few things including spam filters and the server perhaps being blacklisted.

There could of course be an issue with the email mechanism of the site but that's unlikely as it sent the email no problems when I changed email addresses.

I'll take a look at it.

Did you get the email twice? I did resend it to you this morning as your account was showing up as a coppa user so I changed it back resnt the email and then though oh bugger it I better let the poor guy off the hook

Hehehe...yeah I got two at the new address. I'm going to muck with the email process tonight and change my address back to the old one to see if it comes through.

I found out another thing that wouldn't help with this. Alot of aussie isp's and hosts block AOL email addresses outright. This includes my web host so if anyone emails me from an AOL address I won't see it.

So if anyone reading this has an AOL address please change it to another email address in your user profile. If you don't have another one go to www.yahoo.com and get a free one, they are good and give you a bucketload of space. I have a gigabyte in mine and all for free!

for NZ
it is www.yahoo.com.nz
for the rest it is just teh old .com!!!

The only thing is the dates seem to be usa for all au & nz and I haven't been able to find where to change that.

I just messed around with it then and still US but I have been using it so long I don't really notice it now.
