    Lard Levy

I heard recently that the govt. after liaising with medical and health officials have recommended placing a tax on fatty foods.

At the moment i beleive this is targeting the Fast Food outlets at the moment... (even though there is already a GST on them)

does anyone have more info on this - whether this is going ahead, and to what extend that fats will be taxed (incl. types of fat... eg: sat vs unsat )

Although we don't know the rate of tax at this stage, how would this effect us lo-carb eaters??

Love to hear your input in this matter

    I did'nt know about that.
Geez the government will look for any excuse to add yet another tax!

I thought GST was suppossed to mean just one tax for everything...

I heard about that Bartman. Contact your local federal member or the federal health minister, Sen Kay Patterson. They love to give out info! It's best to call your local member, but if you want to contact the health minister, check out the website (think it is http://www.health.gov.au ) and drop them an email.
