    Re: Tony Ferguson Weight-loss Program

Yes Tony Ferguson is a diet consisting of meal replacement shakes full of carbs and very low calorie, something like 700 or 800 calories a day if I remember right. Its just a meal replacement DIET not a lifestyle. If you thought cohens was bad/hard Tony Ferguson will be much worse (my opinion of course)!

Tony Ferguson Diet is definitely a crash diet!

I understand that this is an opinion and it was quite sometime ago. I do get a bit cheezed off when people give opinion who have NO understanding of the subject they are expressing. I'm hoping that this person has tried the program or educated themselves since.

I haven't changed my opinion, then again I do not have something to sell.

well said, sherrie, i think one of the reasons we all enjoy this site so much is that noone is trying to sell us something. most of us on here have probably dabbled in or looked at or read the labels on these shake programs and have decided it is not for us for different reasons. personally, i find the looooong list of chemical additives disturbing. so keep up the good work sherrie

That's fine that you haven't changed your opinion, then again it is only your opinion. The fact is I don't have anything to sell (here) either but you do influence people the wrong way by being misinformed.

Excuse me freelife but at that time where the quote originated, those calorie amounts were on Tony Fergusons website and if you follow the thread through you will see it mentioned when Tony Ferguson changed these calorie amounts. There is absolutely no misinformation.

I thought that was what it was. but looking at what you can eat apart from the shakes and soup made me wonder..
a minimum of three cups of vegies two pieces of low GI fruit, and your palm size of fish or meat seems a fair bit.. they say it is 1000 -1200 cals a day...

I remember finding it on the site when discussing them somewhere else, I'll see if I can find it on their site again.

Did you know 4 weeks supply of shakes is over $160?

This was a cut and paste straight from their website when I was talking about it on Daves site a couple of months ago, they must've changed it?

VLCDs include prepared food formulas and a carbohydrate and calorie reduced diet, of approximately 800 calories per day

If you go to the what you can eat page their first paragraph says you replace 2 meals per day, so your only having 1 real meal a day and then just shakes and I assume snacks from 2 servings of fruit?

Its ketogenic even though you eat fruit etc because its so low calorie, I *think* you would be lucky to even get near 1000 calories a day on it, wonder if they have the nutritional info for their shakes so I can do the sums....

The Tony Ferguson Weight Loss program consists of replacing 2 meals per day with our meal replacement formulation. You then include 1 serve of “palm sized” protein, (refer to list of protein), minimum 3 cups of vegetables (refer to vegetable list), 2 servings of fruit (refer to fruit list), 2 litres of water, and any extras from our ‘extras list, into your daily diet.

The trouble with diets that are depending on calories lower than maintenance levels, and on packaged products is that they create a dependency mindset.

It's all great that they have wonderful support and products yadda yadda, but how does everyone fair in the long term?

Do they actually track people long term, or once everyone leaves the program, they haven't a clue?

Did you know that their maintenance program is $10 to visit a nutiritionist where they will write up a low cal low fat maintenance plan?
