Hi Mashelly ... yes I just put a post in your diary

I got the carbs counting thing worked out now

I didn't like Calorie King. I use a program called 'Perfect Diet Tracker'. It's not free but it works really well for me cos I can put my own ingredient contents in there in the Australian version without having to stuff around with converting the American stuff.

Having said that I'm not really counting much these days. I read labels & most of the stuff in the house is now LC so I'm pretty safe to eat most of what's in the cupboard. I 'think' I'm doing about 1700 calories & about 30 carbs ... but whatever I'm doing is working at the moment. Over the last couple of weeks everythings just kicked into place & I've been really happy with my losses.

The other thing I'm doing is trying to stay OUT of ketosis. I know that's the opposite to what I'm supposed to do, but I go in & out of ketosis quite easily & find the headaches unbearable ... so I'm better off when I'm not in it.

I'm no longer having sugar cravings & can walk past the honesty box in the lunchroom without feeling dragged towards it.

I've also relaxed a lot about what I'm eating & I'm not obsessing about being on a 'diet'. I'm just eating different foods than I used to eat

    Good to see you again

Surely the TF staff can't be that clueless to think its fat that does it when their own forums say otherwise and very loud and clear no less!

It's amazing how many are there having these problems.

I put up a post questioning how many had had gallstones when I was still tossing up whether to try LC. Many have but they inisist it had nothing to do with TF, and claim it to be the fatty foods they ate before going on TF.

That was told to me on a another forum by vegetarians.

They had ruined their gall bladder with fatty foods, had it removed now eating the low fat high carb fair.

There's a few controversial threads on the TF forum at the moment by Deadly.Davo.

Is that you Dave ? (I don't think it is but I may as well ask)

Simply Fibre is recommended by TF & contains Red Clover & one of the staff have ok'd it for a pregnant woman to take as a source of fibre. Apparently you shouldn't take red clover whilst pregnant

    Pregnancy And Breast-Feeding

Red clover should be avoided in pregnant or breast-feeding women because of its estrogenlike properties. Animal studies have linked red clover to infertility and abortion, as well as to cancer in offspring.

Why do they even need to sell a fibre supplement?

They haven't heard of psyllium husks?

Ooh, I just learnt something! "You learn something new every day."

    http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache...lnk&cd=5&gl=au

What did I learn? That if you click on the link provided in a google search it won't let you into the TF forums, but if you click on the bit that says 'Cached' you CAN read the page (lol).

Oh, and the content of the TF Moderators' posts is questionable.

The carbs in an Empower wrap would be fine, but the other ingredients need careful consideration before you decide to eat them.

All I found about the red clover was Deadly.Davo's post, but not the reply.

    Now I can't help myself...

They have to push the fibre supplement because "constipation has been a major source of worry for so many people"

    http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache...lnk&cd=1&gl=au

and apparently the sugar in the shakes is OK because it's
    a) "6 teaspoons of sugar as opposed to 25"
    and
    b) "not simply the white table sugar...it is a sugar called fructose"

    OMG

They really understand the principles of low carb don't they!!!

That diet isn't about health, it is just a means to an end (weight loss), one that makes lots of moula!

Arrrg you've got me sucked in now!!

    Too hot to work anyway.

    The answer is no (phew)

    http://forum.tonyferguson.com/Topic3...light=pregnant

Not sure why you need to go to a cached version Annelies - unless something has been deleted? - you can read their forum without registering. Some of the horse manure spouted in the "Questions for TF staff" section is really mind blowing.

BTW - since I've now skimmed this thread, how long before someone as tactful as moi (damn Tony Abbott for getting first dibs on "People Skills!) can we assume that Jack 07 is not coming back and therefore ...?

    Cheers,
