very interesting Sherrie!!!

I remember when I was first diagnosed with type2 that after a while of diet control not working I asked the doctor why do we have to eat carbohydrates if they are what take our bsl's up? his answer was 'because they are esssential and give you better control'. So I was afraid of low carbing for many many years!

That is so nuts isn't it!
Just think if you knew the truth then you probably would be in all this mess now and would have lost the weight much easier then.
It's more than just nuts! it's downright cruel and sooooo wrong!
Yes Dave, I remember questioning WHY the carbs when it's carbs that take our bsl's up? and then telling myself...well who the hell are you? a doctor or something?? I was too scared not to have the carbs fearing something drastically wrong would happen with my diabetes!! so I just instilled trust and lost the battle! It wasn't until Sandra Cabot got known with her Syndrome X stuff that it started looking better - it was her that got me onto low carbing in the very first place! though I wasn't too successful with her syndrome x diet, but probably more a mental issue at that time, though I did try hard and had some success I gave up too early.
That article was great. Do people with diabetes go to the offices of the Diabetes Association? If so, I'm so tempted to stand outside and give out information on low-carb. Just letting people know it may help their diabetes. Would I get arrested??

I know that atleast in QLD and SA they have a shop where people go to buy 'diabetic' friendly products and other equipment etc. I used to buy Jok'n'al topping that way.
You could put our url on the pamphlet!![]()

yes there are Diabetes Association offices, one in Sydney, it's like the hub - they have diabetes educators, products, doctors, dietitians there!
