    Re: Bodytrim WARNING

    Hi all

just thought I should let u know what happened to me on bodytrim day 3 of carb detox my feet started to hurt like they were bruised day 4 they were swollen and felt like they had been hit with a sledgehammer went to doctors to find out I have Odema in both my feet and wrists and possible kidney damage from the high protein changing the metabolism to quickly in my system I stuck to the diet for 7 days and did not lose a gram. It is possible this a problem with my body but my Dr advised it was a very dangerous way to try to lose weight so Im back to 1200 cals a day with weight excercises and slow releasing carbs for breakfast and lunch

I have posted this as a warning to others not to discourage people
    good luck

    That's not good, baichoc ...

that really is an unusual reaction to the BT diet.

I suffer high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes, and it never did anything but good for me.

That said, I don't follow it anymore. I'm onto Low Carb High Fat, which I think is working better.

    Good luck, Tigers.

That sounds terrible! I suppose it is acute kidney damage, which most likely should improve? You should report this to the Bodytrim company!
High protein diets are known to be hard on the kidneys, and people with kidney problems should shy away from such regimes.
That's why I have chosen LCHF, a low carb way of living that doesn't increase protein intake much (though my kidneys are fine..)

I am thinking there was probably a problem before, their protein amounts would not be any more then LCHF or Atkins it's just divided up into small portions over the day which really should mean the kidney would get a smaller hit at a time any way.

From reading a few BT food diaries, I've noticed that some people definitely seem to have more protein in their diets than I do - especially when snacking a lot on protein shakes and tuna through the day. So I just assumed it would be higher?

Re: Bodytrim in a nut shell

Females typically have 3x 50g and 3 x 100g of protein food (not actual protein). a 100g piece of meat/chicken is around the 20-30g mark of actual protein. So even if we go to the upper range of 30g per 100g it's still only 30g in one serve which isn't high and over the course of the day using the upper range which they won't always get it is still only 135g of protein per day.

This is pretty standard for a low carb diet.

On an individual level a BT person eating 100g of chicken breast is eating 30g of pure protein wheras a LCHF or Atkins person eating a whole breast is eating a much bigger portion plus they may add other things that also contain protein.

Re: Bodytrim in a nut shell

Hi Everyone, im halfway through week 3 on Body Trim and Ive lost 4 kilos so far, im stoked! I felt crappy on day 3 of my detox, but honestly if alot of you people complain and cant make it through 3 days of dieting, how will you ever keep on a long term plan of eating? I borrowed the book off a friend, so have found this site invaluable for information I may need. Im walking 5 days a week for 3/4 hr and including my day, gets me to 10,000 steps easily. Im so motivated, cant wait to have that skinny feeling again! Ive only got 23 kilos to go. As kate moss said "nothing tastes as good, as skinny feels".
    Good Luck everyone.

Smile Re: Bodytrim in a nut shell

    Hello
I'm waiting for my BT to arrive but have been able to get a head start by studying this thread. Awesome information and I think I now have my head around the fundementals. So thank you to everyone that contributes to this website/community.
I started my 3 day detox on monday (my period arrived the same day!). I,m on day 3 and have lost 2 kg. I was a coffee addict before BT but have coped on black tea and water. I'm never hungry although I'm sick of eating meat.
My success...so far at getting through the 3 day detox I put down to planning my lunch for the following day. No guess work or scrambling for something I can eat when I'm starving...which used to happen.
I have missed the wine but not as bad as I thought I would. A slight urge and then it's gone. I'm probably not drinking enough water as I get a dry mouth but I'm slowly increasing it to over 1ltr a day. My bladder is coping so far....aiming to get the H2o up a lot more in the coming days.
So now I look forward to having a piece of toast. Yum. I'm going to savour it!

Re: Bodytrim in a nut shell

Don't be shy of coffee on Bodytrim, it's quite allowed. What isn't allowed is all that full fat milk most people add when having lattes or cappuccinos. If you take it black, or with just a touch of milk, it's quite ok.

As for water ... try adding a dash of diet cordial if you aren't used to drinking large volumes of water, then gradually decrease the concentration. You should be aiming for 2-3 litres a day.

Good work on the detox. Keep it up
