Hello,
Burlingtons Asian Supermarket in China Town (Fortitude Valley) sells these noodles. My friend is going to buy some for me tomorrow.
Didn't manage to get any this weekend, but I have used them before.
They are a strange type of noodle. Usually noodles become gluggy or really awful if you leave them in liquid too long, but these ones tend to keep their shape and consistency.
You need to rinse them thoroughly when you first take them out of the packet.
They take on any sauce that you cook them with. You can make a nice simple Laksa style curry dish with some coconut cream, prawns, veges and curry powder (plus herbs + spices that you like).
I made a lovely cauliflower bake tonight. Broke the cauliflower up into small pieces, mixed some raw beef mince in with it and added some full cream and grated a zuchini to add with it. Then I put it into a casserole dish and covered it in grated cheese.
I made enough to have some for breakfast, but my non low carb friends gobbled it up!
Yum. I am going to hunt them down now....thanks for that
I got some really nice all meat hamburger patties, cut them into 6(looks like minature pizza slices) and fried them in olive oil. Let them cook until a bit crispy on the outside and then drained them off. OMG How nice... guess what i am having on Wednesday while watching the football!!!!
Hi all ...well i went to an asian shop at harbour town today and found 2 types of noodles ???? im soooo confused and the staff were very unhelpful and had never heard of shirataki or magic noodles?? ...These noodles are in the cold section one packet content has rice flour ?? and they said it was yam?? and the calories are 16 per 100g and carbs 5g per 100g ? but the other packet i got said ingredients was powdered yam ..it has nearly no calories and 2.9 per 100g ..does this sound like the same magic noodles to you as i thought would contain less carbs ?? help please
I just got the shirataki mini pearls in the post!
I followed the instructions and tried a risotto kind of meal (simmered in stock)
with cheese..
It wasn't awful but it was very chewy..
Anyone else tried it?!

I have yet to try them so I have no idea about their texture. (You can buy them online here Miracle Noodles ) It would be good if they were like rice as it is nice to have rice every now and again and cauli rice is a pain.
Nikki, 2.9g per 100g is pretty good for noodles, I would go for them![]()
