One of my favorite blogs just did a 5 part series on Cholesterol. Very little of dietary cholesterol gets absorbed by the body.

Hi
Thanks for the replies.
My total cholesterol is 5.5 at the higher end of normal range,my LDL is about 1.5 and my HdL is low.thyroid function is normal.had this check two months ago.
When I have had bloating I am thinking it was after eating homemade biscuit could be a combination of wheat(I am not coeliac) But my dietician thinks its the small chain sugars in the wheat products, also had bloating if I eat to many nuts.I have on the dukan diet in the last few day have consumed more soy than I would of in the last month as there is only so much meat you can eat.maybe next weekend I could up the fat without the wheat and see what happens then if it goes pear shaped I have Sunday to recover.A2 milk still has the milk proteins really reluctant to vomit it all up
Thanks for the help![]()

I asked because there's 2 common types of beta caseins A1 and A2. A1 protein is what is in typical dairy which comes from A1 type cows which have been bred to produce larger volumes of milk. These have not been in humans diets for as long as A2 cows and thus are not tolerated as well.
This is the new direction I'm taking this week. I want to get back to ketosis fast, and I've read that really high fat, moderate protien is the way to do it. Plus it will help with my bsl's.
I need to stop thinking about food!

If anything will stop it LCHF will![]()
Great post, and link to dietdoctor.com. I read his blog several times a week, and recommend his site to people all the time. Unlike you and some others here, I've only been following this for 7 months, but it's made an enormous difference to my entire life - and probably saved me from the horrendous complications of diabetes.
Good luck, Kath
If you go cold-turkey and into ketosis, you can follow the advice in one of the first post above about having some extra salt those first few days. I wish I had known that then, instead of feeling dizzy and like I had dementia for a whole weekBut I got over it eventually, and then it was just smooth sailing and I suddenly had all that extra ''head-space'' from not constantly craving and thinking about food.
Yeah I like my salt. Not giving that stuff up in a hurry.
So far so good today, I had a frittata for breakfast, with cream mixed in with the eggs, butter and lots of bacon. Some pepperoni before my gym workout and post workout snack. 1/4 chicken (bbq) for lunch. I've got pork rashers for dinner, mmmm.

Eat lots of low carb veg because you need the potassium also!
We had pork rashers last night, Woolies have them on special![]()
We had pork rashers the other night too. OMG they shrunk down to the size of fingers!

Thanks so much for sharing that info on eggs Sherrie - I was getting worried I was eating too many eggs! (2-3/Day)
It seems to take a very long time to retrain my mind into thinking that fat isn't bad! Every time I put butter on my LC pancakes I feel guilty - or that I'm somehow cheating!
Or when I eat Coffee Club's triple cheese omelette (sans toast!) I can't help but wince when looking at the kilojoules & cross my fingers that this crazy diet will work!

Hehe how cool, I promoted this to the article sectionLCHF / The Scandinavian Diet
