Smile Another newbie to the forum and to the lifestyle!

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Ange, I'm a 35yo Mum, wife and a teacher and live in Perth WA. My husband and I have just begun a version of the bodytrim diet... I say version because I picked up the DVDs at a garage sale but nothing else along with them. So my understanding of the program has been limited to what is said on the DVDs and what I can find online... Although this site has been a fabulous source of information!! Hence my joining.

We're into day 3 of the detox and so far have lost almost 3kgs between us! My husband is hoping to lose 10kgs all up, I need to lose 15 to be content, 20 to be happy! Yep, that middle aged spread is really getting the better of me... Happy to say neither of us have 'craved' anything throughout the detox, although I have to admit I don't think either of us could ever be guilty of eating due to hunger! We generally eat cause food tastes good and it's available or on offer!

I'm quite certain that all of our weight gain is due to a carb loaded diet. Staples in our house with 2 impossible to fill up, rambunctious boys!! Our diet would regularly consist of either bread, potatoes, pasta or rice at every evening meal, sandwiches for lunch or leftovers which were always carb loaded and generally cereals or toast for breakfast with fruit and yoghurt... A mandatory big cook up at least once every weekend and take away most Friday nights. Then of course my husband is a fruit bat and has been all his life and I was averaging a glass or two of wine at least 4 nights a week (something I viewed as well deserved given my role as a working Mum)... I don't think our diet has ever been completely atrocious! But along with a busy lifestyle which hasn't been condusive to regular or vigorous exercise, the weight has just slowly crept on.

Needless to say this new lifestyle is going to take a lot of getting used to and is somewhat daunting :-/ Although we have been buoyed by our impressive results at the 72 hour mark! So that's something.

So I just wanted to say hi and I hope to pick your brains about the low carb lifestyle.

    I'm with you Ange,

As a Newbie myself and one week in I can say that it is different!

I've managed a 6kg loss in my first week from just being very very disiplined and following all the suggestions on this site.

    Go get that goal.
