    R lean sausages ok?

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone has used lean sausages (the ones you buy from woolies) pork, chicken, lamb etc, I think the brand is pepper corn as their snack for BT? Are these acceptable or would they be too fatty? Thanks Carm

They shouldn't be fatty if they are called lean. I'm thinking what you would have to concentrate on is what fillers (e.g. carbs) they contain. I'm not on BT so I can't help you with that question other then the basic answer I just gave.

    Thanks Sherrie
There is very minimal fat when I cook them and the nutritional info list per
100g 12.7g Protein and 2.5g Carbs, do you think this is acceptable as low carb. I just find them very tasty and a good on the go stack.
    Thanks

Yes though it may not be as high in protein as what BT would want. To give you an idea, 100g of chicken breast is around 22-31g of protein depending on whether your weighed 100g portion is raw or cooked.

But as a snack, I don't think it will be to big a deal if your 3 mains are getting you around 25-30g of protein each as that is 75g to 90g of protein for the day just in main meals alone.

Agree with Sherrie, I always check very carefully any sausages I go to buy as some can be so high in carbs!
I used sausages on BT as a snack, and lost weight no problems at all

I don't think they'd be fantastic, take a look at the calorie king entry for them http://www.calorieking.com.au/foods/...oZWVyaW9z.html

    Re: R lean sausages ok?

I am beginning to think that some good old chicken breast is the better option
after all, there are so many herbs and spices you can cook it with to give the same amount of flavour and the sausages.
I did not know about Calorie King, I will be using that alot in the future.
    Thanks for your help!
