      CELEBRITY chef George Calombaris says margarine should be banned as he launches a new restaurant inspired by “clean eating”.




      While not strictly the paleo diet, which is inspired by the cavemen era, Mastic in Kew will have a holistic and organic approach to the
      menu.

      The new way of eating has helped the chef lose 22kg over the past three years and he wants to pass that on.

      That diet includes little processed food and is also inspired by his Greek heritage.

      “It’s really about whole foods and that’s where my philosophy comes from,’’ he said.

      “I don’t eat margarine, I think it should be banned really. It’s unidentifiable black preserved texture, it’s disgusting, it’s wrong.

      “Our choices in life are simple — eat whole food, eat real food, that philosophy has been around a long time
