Hi everyone
I'm on day 5 of a LCHF diet. My brother has been doing it for about 6 months and told me about it last week. I have done the Atkins one before and lost a lot (as opposed to ballooning) a few years ago following knee surgery. Due to struggling to lose the last 15kg of pregnancy weight, I decided to give this one a go, though like others, am hesitant about the fat intake. I'm used to lean meat, if I eat any at all. However, with the help of my brother we went shopping and bought some fatty pork strips. I had some heart palpitations the first night, totally lethargic on day 3 and on the night of day 3 actually felt sick as I fried the pork strips that night (had read that canola oil that I had been using was no good). There's also been some BM problems but I'm sure they'll pass
I've lost nearly 3 kgs so that's a bonus.
Still have many questions:
- can I forgo the fatty pork strips and just stick with frying with butter?
- does anyone have toddlers and restrict their carb/sugar/veges/fruit as well?
- I read something about ketosis, need to remember what it is...!
I think I like to refer to my new WOE as just 'eating real food' not 'food-like'!
I definitely need to research more, so great to have found this forum, so I can dig around to find answers
Look forward to conversing with you soon
