      A confectionary giant has announced it has found a way to greatly reduce the amount of sugar in its chocolate without impacting on taste.
      Nestlé says its researchers have found a way to structure sugar differently — using only natural ingredients — so that the tongue perceives an almost identical sweetness to before.

      Nestlé chief technology officer Stefan Catsicas said the “truly groundbreaking” research had the potential to reduce total sugar in chocolate products by up to 40 per cent.

      “Our scientists have discovered a completely new way to use a traditional, natural ingredient,” he said.
