I think I had one once, it was ok but nothing to write home about. I like the Empower or Darrell Lea chocolate better.

I have had a few different types of LC chocolates, alot give me gas but as you said the bit I like least in them is they have alot of crap. Personally I started avoiding LC chocolates when I fell pregnant although I did try a couple once when pregnant that had no artificial sweeteners, one was the empower which gives me lots of gas and another I think might have been belgium blue which I liked better. Hard to remember now as I havn't had any more since. I have looked at those well naturally mint ones before when I first noticed them in woolies but the mint chips had aspartame. I used to love Daryl lea too but I'm pretty sure the last couple of times it gave me lots of gas too, it was like my tolerance had lessened.

Now I avoid chocolates with alot of crap in them and I actually take a preference too lindt 85% for an inexpensive chocolate that you don't need much of which has very few ingredients which you could easily ration on LC (if will power allows) and you won't get gas!
Otherwise I go a nut chocolate that isn't LC which I ration too small amounts if I need that fix but only because I can have more carbs now and don't have time for making cheesecakes.
I do remember ages ago when I first started LC I had a LC nut chocolate that was really good but havn't found it since.

On LC though I found the best way to satisfy chocolate craving was chocolate cheesecake (I used 85% lindt and homebrand cocoa powder). Upon setting I would divide it into slices and have 1 slice per day which I would work into one of my meals to kill 2 birds with the one stone. I really liked cheesecake because it had a really great fat and protein ratio, but being that it tastes so good you need to be strong with this until it becomes second nature.

What was the soy ingredient? Was it soy lecithin?

Lecithin is as well as being a great fat burner it is an emulsfier commonly found in soy and egg. Soy obviousely being cheaper you will find that most packaged foods you buy that contain an emulsfier will contain soy lecithin. I am not 100% sure on this but I have read that the soy lecithin is purified so much that there is no trace of the soy in it. I don't know how accurate that is just that I remember reading that.

Especially considering that one of the most noticable benefits of LC is the lack of bloating and gas, why jeopardise it!!!

The chewy cherry is not bad, the chocolate is awful..I haven't had one for ages...I find any of those bars make me stall...

I love the Well naturally plain dark chocolate. I never buy more than one at a time though because I can easily get carried away. They are pretty cheap too and they taste a lot better than the sugarless choc you find a most chemists.

I sometimes buy the Green & black 85% cocoa.

I love the Well Naturally bars as well (in moderation) and have no issues with stalling (so far!)

Where can you buy the well naturally bars from? Can you get it in white & normal Chocolate?

I am yet to try the sugar free chocs

They are available at major supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths/Safeway) in the health food aisle.

They only come in Dark Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate with mint from what I have seen

They also come in Almond Chip, Valencia Orange and Caramel Crisp. Also, they make blocks of chocolate called AntiOx Chocolate, which come with either Goji Berries or Acai Berries, both are sugar free but the Goji one is lowest in carbs from memory. Each block is equivalent in antioxidants to 12 cups of green tea

I went to their website the other day and filled out a taste test survey and they wrote back thanking me and offered to send some me some samples of their other products.
How cool is that?

I also told them how great it was that they used Erythritol and stevia as their sweeteners instead of other substitutes.

They used to be erythritol and splenda then they bought out an almond chip with erythritol and stevia, have they changed them all over now?

Yeah the original dark chocolate and the mint are made with stevia and erythritol. They now have the mint chocolate in blocks available at woolworths. Bit of a shame it's the only chocolate I don't like. They said it's their most popular variety.
