I made balls tonight actually , just with melted SFC and nuts ,almond meal, currents etc but one 45 gm bar of SFC was mint and it has given them a slightly bitter taste . Will wait and see when they set and what DH reckons.

It might be ok for cooking to reduce carbs more etc I just don't like it on its own. In fact, I still have some of the packet sitting on my desk, its been a few months since I opened it!

I liked the first square on its own, then I tried it with a coffee and it was urghh and I haven't been able to make myself like it ever since.

So which one do you dunk n your coffees ?

Yum they sounded awesome - I look at the chocolate every week in the supermarket , I pick it up and smell it when no one is looking:eek: but I really don't think I could stop at 3 or 4 squares. Good for you if that is all you have.

I have chocolate smelling candles that is my chocolate fix - no calories or carbs - also caramel

It would cost way too much to have more of it. If I had lots of it I would run out and have to buy it at full price, no way!

But you see, for me because its not sweet, I don't crave more and more of it like I would in my cadbury days. I would easily keep eating a family block until it was gone. I just don't do those types of things now, so I take that as a good sign

Yes I too could eat a family Cadbury without even realising and then wanting more !!!!
I reckon I would give the chocolate candles a nibble if I was desperate
For now I will stick with my SFC and with the baking I do all the time - whatever fills your needs and wants hey.

Aldi has sugar free chocolate on special starting today. I haven't tried it, but going there after work and will check it out. I have a few recipes that would be nicer with milk chocolate rather than the dark lindt (which I bought 6 of last week at woolies).

I've been told we will have an Aldi built near us - the closest is 20 min away & when this new one is opened at Christmas it will be 10min away - I'm not complaining

Love Aldi !!! However I saw the sugar free chocolate on special - wonder what the carbs are ? please post when you find out Kez. I brought a few bars of sorts from Coles today that were in their catalogue this week. From "The Bar Company" 2 for $4 and I got the high protein bars in Raspberry truffle carbs = 3.2gm, Dark chocolate and almond carbs = 2.5gm (which I had tody and was lovely) & Chocolate brownie crunch 3.2gm carbs. The protein ones appeared to have the lowest carb content. So far so good and a great price.

We don't have any in SA - unless one's been built recently.

Hi Chris - I did not wind up buying them. The milk ones were about 53g carb/100g - the normal milk cooking chocolate is only 56!!! The dark one was very similar. Just goes to show that you need to be sooooooo careful about reading labels, and don't believe the "big print" (sugar free/no added sugar).

I was in woolies and my local now carries coconut flour. One brand (McKenzies) was about 50g carb/100g, while another brand (forget what it was, but "organic" was in the title) was just over 20g/100g. Both state that the only ingredient is coconut

The weirdest thing is that the McKenzies dessicated coconut is the lowest that I have found (around 26g/100g) I am soooooooo confused.

One discrepancy could be if they're using American nutritional information and including the fibre. This often happens will flax/linseeds
