Hi!
Well, obviously, I am new here
I am a stay at home mum of 3 beautiful children, 3.5 & 2 years and a 12 week old baby.
I began to eat LC waaaaaay back in the few months before falling pregnant with my first, as I have PCOS & Insulin Resistance. It really helped shift the weight and my general wellbeing. Upon falling pregnant I decided to move towards more of a Low GI Diet, and since I have been basically pregnant or breastfeeding for the past 4 and a bit years, I have eaten this way ever since!
I developed Gestational Diabetes in my first pregnancy but not in the other 2, but still am aware of my risk factors. The Low GI plan has really helped I feel, not only by stopping me getting GD again, but also I have ended up loosing a few kgs with each pregnancy, even though I wasn't trying to IYKWIM. So I am now lighter than I was prior to my 1st pregnancy, but still have a bit to lose.
This is my last child, and as soon as I am finished exclusively breastfeeding in a few months I plan to restart a LC lifestyle.
I have been lurking a fair bit and reading heaps of all the great info you have on this site, and am joining now really just to start getting some ideas of how to progress with LC once I am comfortable to do so in a few months.
