Iherb favourites

Hi everyone

I have noticed that a few low-carb products can be pretty expensive here in Oz. So, today I've ordered from Iherb for the first time.
This is what I ordered:
- Now Foods, Better Stevia Liquid Extract Hazelnut
- Now Foods, Erythritol, 100 % Pure Natural Sweetener 1 pound
- Wisdom Natural, SweetLeaf Liquid Stevia, Vanilla Creme
- Wisdom Natural, SweetLeaf Liquid Stevia, English Toffee

I was wondering if perhaps people would like to share their favourite iherb-buys. For example things that you can buy cheaper there than here in Oz?
Also, are there some things that I shouldn't get on iherb (that won't be allowed to import - eg. albumen containing products)?

Also, I understood that as long as the package weighs less than 4 pounds, the shipment cost will be 6(?) US dolalrs. Are there any other local tolls I should be aware of?

I hope you used my code RER863, helps me out with the forum and you get the $5 discount from it

I mostly do a big order at a time and use DHL as it's discounted once you spend $80 plus you get an additional discount that goes up the more you spend and that way I can buy the big bags of erythritol There used to be a random customs charge but DHL have stopped that for iherb customers now and I also find them a lot quicker since they stopped it.

I pretty much buy almost all my supplements from them as they are so much cheaper. I just received my last supp order from them earlier this week.

Oh and I always check with the TGA if I'm not sure about an item, IHerb do have a page with list of some things that are an issue with customs.

Yes, I saw that 5 pound bag of erythritol, so much cheeper when buying in bulk! In my local health food store I think 1/4 kg of erythritol (No Cal brand) is 10 AUD...

When DHL nabbed me with a bogus customs charge I tried splitting my order up into small airmail orders buying that smaller erythritol which is ok but it usually takes 2 weeks (I usually leave ordering to last minute so I find it frustrating) and if you buy heat sensitive supps like fish/krill oil then the quicker it arrives the better. But really it depends on my order, sometimes I still use airmail if it qualifies and I'm not in a rush.

I buy lots of stuff from them. Been buying the Nutiva coconut oil. Very yummy..:)

I'm trying to find a new source for 85% lindt as no-one seems to be stocking it here anymore? whilst looking on Iherb whilst I didn't find Lindt but this, I did find that they are now stocking unsweetened 100% which we don't have in Aus:
Ghirardelli, Premium Baking Bar, Unsweetened Chocolate, 4 oz (113 g)

Re the 85 % Lindt, have you checked Big W? I saw it there the other day, and was surprised. But this was in Brisbane..

Usually I buy lindt in bulk when it's on special, well Woolies had Lindt on special in their last catalogue, 2 for $5 and we couldn't find any with 85% and they had no place for it either.

I have bought expired Lindt from this place before when no-one had it on special for ages here and they have run out and now say this:

Lindt Excelllence 85% Dark Chocolate 100 Gram Block These are no longer availaable at the wholesalers as they have been deleted. There may be some in stores but once they sell out apparentley that is it. The 50 blocks I have are Best before dated end July 2011. These dates are put on for the Australian Market and don't have any scientific reasoning. These taste and look the same as they always do. I have reduced the price to $1.50 per block

Hi there,
As I'm too lazy to use whole vanilla pods for baking, I use to buy Bourbon vanilla powder instead. I simply think it tastes better than vanilla extract.
But I haven't been able to find it here in Australia, and iherb doesn't stock it.
I got a tip about this product on a Norwegian low carb forum:

But, I am wondering if customs will allow it to be imported? I brought a smaller jar from Norway after Christmas, I declared it and they didn't look twice on it. So I hope it should be fine now as well...

Never heard of it! What about vanilla paste, have you tried that?

I love the Aldi one, and you can buy Dutch brand Droste chocolates (incl. pure which is 100%) from the web site It's All Dutch to Me, base in Moorabin, Vic

Sadly, my vanilla bean paste is the Queen one, which does contain sugar ... when it's gone, I'll have to look at other alternatives. It's too expensive to throw out

You use such a small amount, probably no different to the extract in sugar content?

I won't buy 85% at full price, it's too expensive and I buy a lot

True that the amount is small... Btw, I use a vanilla extract that is sugar free. But the vanilla powder is so yummy, so I'll try to order some once I've run out. I can let you know how it goes

Re your observations on IHERB products. I have been buying from IHERB for over three years. Firstly the quality is very good,service and delivery also good. I buy Twinlab dualtabs multi vitamin caps,Doctor's best CoQ10 100mg, ditto alpa lipoic acid 120gr. Country life calcium magnesium potassium Phosphorus. 180 tabs. Most of their prices are substantially better than Oz and bigger value ingredients plus other items. A good company cheers:)

Out of curiosity can i ask everybody what type of supplements they currently take?

This is currently what I take on a daily basis. Is there anything you reccommend I should remove/don't need? or.. something additional i should take?

Thompsons Fish Oil x 4 (1000g)
Blooms Evening primirose oil x 3 (1000g)
Thompsons Garlic Perles x 2
Herbs of Gold Selenium 150 max x 1
Envirolea Olive Leaf Extract Liquid 3 x 5ml

I've just run out of Mega B's (My happy pills.) Whats a good one you use or should I shoot for an all around Multi.
